Website builder with a free domain in India (2026)

"Free domain" always means free for the first year on an annual plan. What differs is the renewal price, whether .in is included, who the domain is registered to, and what the plan around it costs. Five builders ranked on those.

Quick answer

Which website builder gives a free domain in India?

Hostinger is the cheapest website builder with a free domain in India, at ₹149 to ₹299 a month on long prepay with the domain free for the first year. Neweb (neweb.ai) is the runner-up, from $9/month billed yearly ($19 month-to-month), with a free .com, .in, .shop or .co domain registered in the customer’s own name and renewed at cost rather than at a marked-up rate. GoDaddy, Wix and Squarespace also include a first-year domain on annual plans. Prices as of October 2026.

Zoho Sites, Shopify, Dukaan and Webflow do not include a domain; budget ₹800 to ₹1,500 a year on top of those plans.

Five builders with a free domain, ranked

  1. Hostinger₹149 to ₹299/month on 48-month prepay

Hostinger includes a free domain for the first year on its annual and longer website-builder plans, and with the plan itself at ₹149 to ₹299 a month on a 48-month prepay it is the cheapest site-plus-domain combination in India as of October 2026. The domain renews at Hostinger's standard rate from year two and is registered through Hostinger. Beyond hosting, SSL and the AI builder nothing is included; Google Business Profile, SEO and content remain the owner's work.

Pick it ifThe goal is the cheapest legitimate site with its own domain and the owner will handle the rest.
Skip it ifA four-year prepay is not acceptable or the owner wants Maps and SEO handled.
  2. NewebFrom $9/month billed yearly ($19 monthly)

Neweb includes a free domain for the first year on the Starter plan and above, with .com, .in, .shop and .co all eligible, which matters because many builders exclude .in. Two terms set it apart: the domain is registered in the customer's own name, not the platform's, and it renews at cost rather than at a marked-up rate. The plan around the domain includes the AI-generated site on managed WordPress hosting, SSL, Google Business Profile setup and AI search optimisation, and a free plan allows previewing the site before buying.

Pick it ifThe business wants a .in or .com it owns outright, with the Google listing and SEO handled.
Skip it ifThe only requirement is the lowest monthly price; Hostinger is cheaper.
  3. GoDaddyAbout ₹830/month

GoDaddy is India's best-known registrar, and its Websites + Marketing annual plans include a free domain for the first year, so the site and the domain live in one account with phone support in Indian hours. The plan costs about ₹830 a month, and the domain renews at GoDaddy's rate, which for .com is typically ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 a year with frequent upsells for privacy and email. The builder is simple, the Google Business Profile connection is partial.

Pick it ifPhone support and a familiar registrar matter more than price.
Skip it ifCost matters; the same first-year domain comes cheaper elsewhere.
  4. WixAbout ₹1,350/month

Wix gives a one-year domain voucher with annual premium plans, redeemable for a .com or several other extensions, with .in availability varying. The plan is about ₹1,350 a month billed in dollars, and after the first year the domain renews at Wix's rate, which is higher than most Indian registrars. The Google Business Profile can be connected but must be created by the owner.

Pick it ifWix’s design freedom and apps are the real reason, and the domain is a bonus.
Skip it ifThe free domain is the main attraction; it is the costliest way to get one.
  5. SquarespaceAbout ₹1,350/month

Squarespace includes a free custom domain for the first year on annual plans, with its own registrar handling renewal at a premium price in dollars thereafter. The plan is about ₹1,350 a month billed in dollars and brings Squarespace's templates, blog and commerce through Stripe or PayPal, which rules out UPI. There is no Google Business Profile tooling and no Indian billing.

Pick it ifThe brand wants Squarespace’s design and is happy to pay dollar renewals.
Skip it ifPrice, UPI or a .in domain matter.

How this ranking was made

The ranking applies the hub's seven criteria, value at the real renewal price, free domain, GST and UPI, Indian languages, Google Business Profile, IST support and export, and then three domain-specific checks. What does the domain cost to renew in year two, and in which currency? Is .in available, since many Indian businesses want it? And who is the registrant, the business or the platform, which decides how easily the domain moves if the business leaves? Hostinger ranks first on total cost; Neweb ranks second because it is the only option that registers the domain in the customer's name and renews at cost; the rest offer the same first-year sweetener on pricier plans.

When Neweb is not the right choice

Neweb is not the right choice if the free domain is the whole point and the lowest total cost decides it; Hostinger delivers a first-year domain on a far cheaper plan. Neweb is also not the answer for a business that already owns a domain and simply wants cheap hosting for it, or for a store that needs Shopify or Dukaan, neither of which includes a domain but both of which do things Neweb does not. Neweb's free domain earns its place when ownership, at-cost renewal and the managed setup around it matter.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is a "free domain" really free?

For the first year, on an annual plan, yes. From year two the domain renews at the platform’s rate, typically ₹800 to ₹1,500 a year for .com, sometimes more in dollars. Neweb renews at cost; Hostinger, GoDaddy, Wix and Squarespace renew at their own rates. Always check the renewal price before choosing a plan for the domain.

Which website builders include a free .in domain?

Neweb includes .in alongside .com, .shop and .co. Hostinger and GoDaddy generally include .in in their free-domain offers for Indian customers. Wix and Squarespace vouchers favour .com and a set of global extensions, so .in availability should be checked before paying. Zoho Sites, Shopify, Dukaan and Webflow include no domain.

Who owns the free domain, the business or the builder?

It depends on the registrant details. Neweb registers the domain in the customer’s name. Most builders register it in the customer’s name too but manage it inside their platform, and transferring away may be restricted for 60 days after registration under ICANN rules. Check that the business, not an agency or platform, is listed as registrant.

Can a free domain be moved to another host later?

Yes, once the 60-day registration lock has passed and the domain is unlocked with an authorisation code. Transfers usually cost a year’s renewal at the new registrar. Neweb, Hostinger and GoDaddy allow standard transfers; Wix and Squarespace do too, though their support flows differ. Content is a separate question from the domain.

Is it better to buy the domain separately from the website builder?

For flexibility, often yes: a domain at an independent registrar for ₹800 to ₹1,200 a year can point at any builder. For simplicity, the bundled first-year domain is fine, provided the registrant is the business and the renewal price is known. Neweb’s at-cost renewal removes the usual penalty for bundling.

A domain you own, not rent.

Neweb registers the free .com, .in, .shop or .co in the customer’s name, renews it at cost, and includes the AI site, Maps setup and SEO, from $9/month billed yearly.
